Find Your Perfect Night Out
The beauty of this life is found by taking things slow enjoying each moment one night, one day, one meal, one thing at a time and savor every minute you get!
Inspiration is easily found when you step outside and explore the world around you. I have found that my life starts at the end of my comfort zone. The more I say yes and move from a place gratitude, the more I realize my life is a beautifully perfect collection of amazing and unique experiences. My hope is to share these experiences and inspire others to see what wonderful experiences are out there waiting to be discovered.
BE OPEN - My personal favorite step to fully embracing what life has to offer, is to just simply be open. It hasn't always been easy for me to be "open." I created a life that I thought was open, but in a very small way. I did what I thought made sense for me, I had a need to be in control as much as possible and I found that things had a way of getting out of hand. I could feel life pushing back on me forcing me to lighten up, to be open and to receive what was coming. My ways of force, control, and anxiety got in the way of what the universe was trying to provide. When I finally gave into the flow of life - the ups, the downs, the right and wrong turns, and just let it wash over me with love and gratitude - the whole world began to open up!
While it's taken a few years of work to find myself fully open, I do know that it allows me to take advantage of all that life has to offer me. When you travel you have a chance to experience tastes, sights, and sounds that are completely different from your norm. Be open to the people who find their way into your journey, be open to conversation, connection and allow situations to beautifully unfold around you. Have a general idea of what you want, where you want to go, but let your experience unfold organically from there. You just may be surprised with the outcome! It's leading me on the trip of a lifetime!
PUT YOURSELF FIRST - This also includes: be yourself and always be true to yourself. We've been told since childhood to share and to 'not be selfish' but I disagree. I find that by making time to be 'selfish' and put my needs first, I become the best version of myself to share with the world around me. Take time to do what you love every day or maybe it's time to figure out what it is that you love?
I always had an idea of things that fueled my soul but it was only after making notes and reminders on what brought me joy, that I started to change my life to include more of those things. I started three years ago, taking time each night before bed to write down 3-5 things that I am grateful for. I started to notice that some things came up over and over again and I decided that I would do whatever necessary to increase the gratitude and love in my life. It may seem a bit out of the ordinary to be selfish but give it a try, why not? BE OPEN!
GO FOR IT - Just say YES already! There seriously is NO reason why one should say no to a good opportunity. I'm not saying go out there and say yes to every damn thing that comes your way. That would just be reckless and could end up costing a whole lot of money! I have a shopping problem already, so I can see this getting really messy! But what I am saying is, if the opportunity presents itself, go for it, take the trip, grab coffee with that person you've been meaning to, buy the plane flight, meet your friend in Thailand, go for the new job, ask for a raise, go on the damn date (especially if it's with a handsome doctor from England for a night out in a new city).
Life is worth living from the drivers seat, windows down, music on full blast, don't waste it in the passenger seat! I know I don't want to be stuck in the backseat or even in the passenger seat for my one big ride around this awesome world. I love being in control of what exits I take, where I test the pick up and speed and when I need to slow down to take it all in. This is my chance to create something that is mine and mine alone and I wouldn't want it any other way. For all of the adventures I've been lucky enough to have already and to all the ones that are on the way - I say YES and THANK YOU; let the crazy beauty continue on!
I challenge you to say YES - grab the wheel and take control of your adventure!
travel light,
